Georgia Kingi signed with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) in 2018, an NCAA Junior College located in Perkinston Mississippi.

Georgia is from the Kapiti Coast in Wellington and lived with her mum Tonia, dad Matt and younger brother Samuel. Georgia decided to look into the possibility of going to a college in the US a few years ago after participating in a tennis squad organised by the Planitpro Academy. The squad was named ‘girls night’ which was run by former athletes who had competed in the system. She felt college tennis is a great way to work towards gaining a qualification whilst playing the sport she loves at such a high, intense and competitive level.

Georgia became part of the Platform Family in May 2017. Her goal was just to find a college that had a good tennis program where she could study Business and not too far from the coast. After speaking to a number of Division II Universities and Junior Colleges, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) was the right fit for Georgia. The location is perfect (not far from the beach and close to the city) and it has amazing facilities. The MGCCC is a short 1.5-hour drive to New Orleans and 30 minutes to Gulf Port which has white sanded beaches. She will be studying Business and branching into Marketing.

We are very happy to see Georgia has experienced her college dream!
