Sophie Robertson | Baker University

Sophie Robertson signed with Baker University in 2016 on a tennis scholarship, an NAIA university located in Baldwin City Kansas.

Prior to college in America, Sophie attended New Plymouth Girls High School where she played a number of sports including Netball, Volleyball and Tennis. She was coached by High-Performance Coach Rakesh Rai where she attended practices at Huatoki Tennis Club, a small club which only has 6 artificial grass courts. In Sophies final year of High School, she went on an exchange to the US which inspired her about the college system.

We began working with Sophie in 2015. She first was placed in Cornell College, a very academic NCAA Division III school where she completed in her freshman year. She played well, trained hard and was improving every week. Sophie reached out to us and wanted to move to a university closer to her American host family which she stayed with during her high school exchange. We helped her transfer from NCAA Division III Cornell College to Baker College which operates in the NAIA system.

Sophie is now in her Senior year and will graduate in June 2019. We are very proud of Sophie and it is great to see her have a great college experience! Well done Sophie!
