TJ Apis Rush has signed his tennis scholarship with Seminole State College, an NCAA Junior college located in Sanford Florida.

TJ is from Pohnpei, a town located in the Federal States of Micronesia. We were introduced to TJ during our 2016 trip to Lautoka, a small town in Fiji. The ITF Pacific Training Facility is based there and we had organized a meeting with Darran Wrighton who was managing the ITF initiative at the time. Athletes from across the Pacific Islands are homeschooled and play tennis full time at this ITF Facility.

Seminole State College is one of the most popular junior colleges in the college system. The junior college system is funded by the NCAA. It is a stepping stone for athletes who may not meet NCAA 4 year college requirements. Athletes complete their Freshman and Sophomore years at Junior College and then transfer to a four-year college to complete their Junior and Senior years.

We are very proud of TJ as he has worked very hard to achieve this goal. Let’s go Seminoles!
