Sean Green has signed a soccer scholarship with Missouri State University, an NCAA Division I college located in Springfield Missouri.
Sean is from Auckland and soccer runs through his blood. His father Lee Green played for the New Zealand Team in the past, which has inspired Sean to be involved in the sport. Sean is a great athlete and competes in the Center Midfielder position.
We started working with Sean in 2017 and he was looking for a college where he can play at a high level, and gain a credible degree. After looking at various options, Sean decided to take up the Missouri States offer. When Sean started his first at Missouri State in 2018 August, he was redshirted. He trained with the team whilst on a scholarship but did not compete. He did not lose any years of playing eligibility. The purpose was to improve his level and start his freshman playing year in Fall 2019.
Missouri State University competes within the Missouri Valley Conference and is contenders for winning their conference tournament. The college has over 18,000 students on campus and state of the art athletic facilities. Sean will have a busy year ahead and is in top form. In January 2019 he played some preseason matches. In his first game, he walked away scoring a goal.
We are very excited to see Sean start in the team in Fall 2019. Go Bears!
