Hiro Nagahama-Sequera | Northeastern State University
We have 4 Platform athletes joining the Northeastern State Men’s Soccer program. Coach Czlonka was so pumped when we came to an agreement on Hiro Nagahama-Sequera that he wanted more! Following that he signed Flynn Mulligan, Oliver Peters and Luke Allport. We are hoping our team of NZ recruits can help bolster the already strong NSU program. Located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma they compete in the Great American Conference in NCAA Division 2. Over the past 10 years, NSU has gone 0.500 or better in all but one season in a very competitive conference where they will come up against another Platform athlete Jonah Pastiroff
Hiro Nagahama-Sequera signed up with Platform back in July 2021. Hiro is originally from Japan and Venezuela. However he was born in Barcelona, Spain and has lived in many different locations around the world. He currently lives in Nelson, New Zealand and plays for one of our partnered clubs Nelson Suburbs. Next stop on the globe is Tahlequah, Oklahoma!
“I joined up with Dylan and Amrit from Platform as I wanted to challenge myself as a footballer overseas while being able to study for my chosen degree. I myself was clueless about the process and opportunities that could come up. However, Dylan and Amrit were there for me working hard to find me the best opportunity that would suit me as a person, student and athlete. I would even go as far as saying that they treated me like family by regularly checking in and providing updates along the journey.”
“When the opportunity to sign for Northeastern State University showed up; I felt that the school was perfectly tailored to what I was looking for. As one of the top programs in Division two college soccer and top facilities for my sports and my studies as well as providing a healthy student lifestyle that will help me to adapt. I’m looking forward to playing and showing to myself that there are no limits when you truly work hard and believe you can make it.”
