Before his leap to the United States, Cooper Morley honed his swimming prowess while attending Rangitoto College in New Zealand. Morely competed at the New Zealand Short Course Championships in April of 2021, earning a best time in the 100m backstroke. He also recorded three top-8 finishes at the New Zealand National Championships in the same year and a bronze medal in the 100m backstroke at the 2019 New Zealand Short Course Championships.

Pennsylvania State University, commonly referred to as Penn State is an NCAA Division I college and competes within the NCAA Big Ten Conference. Penn State is one of the largest and most well-regarded institutions of higher education in the country.

With just under a year competing for the Penn State swimming team, Cooper already owns the 4th fastest 100m backstroke in the program’s history, and he also became the B1G Freshman of the Week after winning the 100m backstroke and scoring in the 50 freestyle and 200 backstroke against Virginia Tech.
