William Kelly, hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, is quickly emerging as a standout golfer for the Goldey-Beacom Men’s Golf Team. Since joining the team in the fall of 2022, his journey has been exceptional.

Impressive achievements on the golf course marked Will’s freshman year. Competing in 9 rounds, he showcased his skills by maintaining an impressive average of 78.11 strokes per round. His consistency and dedication to the sport became evident when he secured top-10 finishes in two tournaments. His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, as he was awarded the CACC Rookie of the Week in September of that year.

Recently, Will Kelly and his team secured a victory at the West Liberty Invitational, and Will himself secured a T-5 finish. However, their success went beyond just winning the tournament. Will and his teammates etched their names in the Goldey-Beacom Men’s Golf Team’s history books by breaking the school record for the lowest 54-hole showing. Their combined score of 867 not only bested the previous record of 897 set at the 2020 Hargett Invitational but also surpassed the performance from last fall’s victorious championship!

Kelly’s contributions to the Goldey-Beacom Men’s Golf Team’s success are undeniable, and his dedication to the sport and his team is exemplary. We are incredibly proud of Will and eagerly anticipate his continued growth and achievements on the golf course. With his talent and determination, the future holds great promise for this young golfer, and we can’t wait to see where his journey takes him and the Goldey-Beacom Men’s Golf Team in the seasons ahead!
