Samantha Daly, the newest member of Converse University’s women’s field hockey team, embodies the perfect blend of dedication and skill. Her path from Auckland, New Zealand, to the collegiate arenas of the United States, has been an extraordinary journey, and her most recent accomplishment underscores her unwavering commitment and the potential she adds to her team.
Before she arrived at Converse University in the fall of 2023, Samantha was already making waves in the field hockey scene in her native New Zealand. She earned a spot on the first XI team at Baradene College for three consecutive years. Her time at Baradene College polished her skills and instilled in her the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship—values that she carries with her onto the field.
Samantha continued with the Auckland University Hockey Club U18A team, where she persisted in growing as an athlete and refining her field hockey skills. Her experience with the U18A team further prepared her for the challenges and opportunities that awaited her in collegiate field hockey.
Recently, Samantha achieved a significant milestone in her collegiate career by scoring her first goal for Converse University in a match against the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters, which resulted in a 4-1 win for the Valkyries!
As we celebrate Samantha Daly’s recent milestone, it’s clear that she is a rising star to watch. Her dedication, skill, and commitment to her team make her a standout athlete and an inspiration to her peers. We are immensely proud of Samantha and eagerly anticipate her future successes with the Converse University women’s field hockey team!
